Japanese through onomatopoeia
Japanese is a language that engages the senses — especially when it comes to onomatopoeia. These expressive, useful expressions of sound help us to relate to the language and culture more closely. I gave this talk at the Polyglot Gathering 2018 in Bratislava, Slovakia as a way to introduce onomatopoeia, its place in Japanese culture and language, and how learners can use this as a first step to making breakthroughs with Japanese, whether their first steps, or working on sounding more native or expressive.
