As Senior Copy Strategist/Brand Communications at Blinkist, I was the voice of the brand — inside and out. No, I wasn’t one of those fantastic narrators you can hear when you listen to a Blinki; and only featured on one episode of one of the amazing podcasts they produce (like Simplify and Self? Help!). But I was (and still am as my copy lives on) the words you read when you’re on their website and using their app. I was the keeper of the voice you hear in the newsletter and brand communications. The shaper of the psychology behind how Blinkist communicates to the world. My role spanned the whole organisation from Brand Marketing, Design, Performance Marketing, International Growth, Product, CRM, and B2B—I had at least my toes in every area of the organisation and how we communicated. And the view? It was spectacular.
During my time at Blinkist I had the good fortune of working with some amazing people and together we worked on projects which became industry standards (like the now famous trial paywall) as well as winning awards for cutting edge applications of newer technologies, including a FORGE 2022 Torchie Award for Best Data Application for our GPT-3 driven brand communications project, the Blinkist Signal. Additional recognition for our projects includes: German Design Award: Excellent Communications Design & Brand Identity (2021), and International Sound Award: Better Sound Award (2020).
